Steven Rothery's A Collection of Musical Curiosities Poster Design

I was asked by Steve Rothery to design a Victorian style A4 poster for his 'A Collection Of Musical Curiosities' event in Uden, Netherlands in October 2018.

Steven Rothery's A Collection of Musical Curiosities Poster Design

The design uses a mixture of old fashioned typefaces similar to those used on real Victorian era posters for circuses, performing acts and freak shows.

In the background of the poster is the big wheel that stands in the town of Pripyat. Pripyat is a ghost town in northern Ukraine and was established to serve the nearby Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Pripyat was evacuated on the afternoon of 27 April 1986, the day after the Chernobyl disaster and has lain empty ever since, although it is now possible to visit the place for short periods of time. This was included because Steve and his band will be playing tracks from his solo album 'Ghosts of Pripyat'.
